So, Phil sang backing vox on Stephen? I was under the impression that prior to that WDWDIITR in 1984, he hadn't sang anything since Box pre-hiatus. Please advise, #s.

He sang on that Stephen. And the Cold Rain the next night. I was always under the impression that was his first at the mic since pre retirement, but I think I later found out there were a few other random backing vocals(very few) between 75-83. Not altogether sure though.

Rainbows, Unicorns & Magic Power Crystals

I did that run, everyone thought that was a "big deal" at the time, LOL!

I enjoyed the 28th the most of the run. 27th was good but very short.

Agreed. That opening Truckin>Smokestack>High Time w/Matt Kelly was sick. That said, the PITB at the 27th was really twisted.

What works for mixing great records? Good cannabis. Listen to Lee Perry...he mixed his records in mono!

I guess some people can get good mixes on powders...at least some of the records I like were probably produced under the influence of coke or speed. But the producer and mixer was probably puffing too, to take that edge off...a saving grace.

completely agree, HCU. I used to write techno music while on E. We'd "jam," as it were, cranking up the board, mixing and matching samples and loops, playing and capturing bass and melody lines, banging miked drums, etc etc.

Then we'd revisit it in a few days, with the addition of the herbal treatments, to actually mix the stuff. The powders could sometimes inspire some very impassioned and synaptically-present performances, but they were not great for listening, as you noted. A little bit of puffing was like strapping on a brand new set of ears.
